ErtelAlsop Pak Lenticular Filters

Advanced Depth Filtration for Industrial & Sanitary Applications

For industries requiring superior clarification, polish filtration, and high-solids retention, the ErtelAlsop Pak® Lenticular Filter represents the gold standard in depth filtration technology. As a robust solution for solid-liquid separation, these modules combine the high capacity of depth filter sheets with the ease of use of a cartridge format.

At Purecowater, we supply ErtelAlsop’s complete line of lenticular cartridges, designed to tackle complex filtration challenges in pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, chemicals, and botanical extraction.

What is a Lenticular Filter?

The ErtelAlsop Pak® consists of depth filter media sheets comprised of cellulose fibers and inorganic filter aids (such as Diatomaceous Earth or Perlite). These sheets are sealed into individual cells and stacked on a central polypropylene core. The resulting structure resembles a stack of double convex lenses—hence the name “lenticular.”

Unlike surface filters that entrap particles only on the outer layer, these depth filters utilize a complex matrix of fibers to trap particles throughout the thickness of the media. Additionally, the media is treated to exhibit a positive Zeta Potential, allowing it to electrokinetically attract and hold negatively charged particles (like haze, colloids, and lipids) that are smaller than the physical pore size.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Scalability: Available in 12-inch and 16-inch diameters with varying cell counts to fit standard housings.
  • High Solids Loading: The depth media structure allows for significant contaminant holding capacity compared to pleated cartridges.
  • Leak-Free Design: Patented edge-sealing technology ensures no bypass, critical for sterilizing-grade or high-purity applications.
  • User Safety: The enclosed module format limits operator exposure to process fluids and eliminates the leakage often associated with traditional plate and frame presses.
  • Versatile Media Options: Available in various media grades including MicroMedia® (cellulose/DE/resin) and AlphaMedia® (pure cellulose).
