How It Works

The Eaton Model 2596 utilizes an integral backwash system controlled by an automated monitoring system. As fluid enters the strainer, solids are captured on the screen element. When the differential pressure indicates that cleaning is required, the backwash arm starts to rotate.

Detailed in Eaton’s technical data, a small portion of the screen element is isolated and cleaned by reverse flow while the remaining screen area continues to filter the process fluid. This efficient design consumes only a small fraction of the product liquid for cleaning, carrying debris away via the backwash pipe.
