ErtelAlsop Pak Lenticular Filters

Advanced Depth Filtration for Critical Applications

For industries requiring high-purity filtration with efficient solids loading, ErtelAlsop Pak® Lenticular Filters represent a significant evolution in depth filtration technology. As a distributor and OEM partner, Purecowater provides these versatile modules to solve complex liquid filtration challenges ranging from botanical extraction to pharmaceutical processing.

The ErtelAlsop Pak® system offers the superior retention capabilities of ease-of-use depth filter media in a sealed, user-friendly cartridge format. This design eliminates the leakage and maintenance often associated with traditional plate and frame filter presses while maximizing surface area in a compact footprint.

What is a Pak® Lenticular Filter?

A “Pak” (or lenticular module) consists of multiple individual filter cells stacked vertically. Each cell is constructed from two discs of depth filter media sealed around the edges using a patented polypropylene molding process. These cells are stacked on a central core and compressed to form a robust cartridge unit.

The “lenticular” design facilitates a specific flow path: liquid enters the housing surrounding the module, passes through the media into the center of the discs, and exits through the central core. This structure allows for a high flow rate and excellent structural integrity.

Key Advantages

  • Zeta Potential: Many formulations, such as the Zeta-Pak®, utilize media modified with a net positive charge (Zeta Potential). This allows the filter to electrokinetically attract and capture negatively charged sub-micron particles (like haze, bacteria, or pyrogens) that are smaller than the media’s physical pore size.
  • Enclosed System: Unlike open filter presses, lenticular modules operate inside sealed housings, preventing product loss, reducing exposure to the atmosphere, and protecting operators from fumes or hazardous fluids.
  • Scalability: Available in 12-inch and 16-inch diameters with varying cell counts (5 to 18 cells), allowing systems to scale from pilot batches to large industrial production easily.
